Welcome to Casa Icarus, a cosy and bright flat located on the first floor in the heart of Trieste's pedestrianised historic centre, in an area perfect for exploring the city without needing a car. Its privileged location allows you to reach Piazza Unità d'Italia and all the main attractions on foot.

The accommodation is ideal for up to 4 guests and consists of:

A comfortable bedroom with a double bed;

An open-plan living area with a sofa bed for 2 additional guests;

A modern bathroom with shower;

A fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and everything you need to prepare meals just like at home.

The house is equipped with independent air conditioning and high-speed Wi-Fi, perfect for remote working or streaming.
The sofa bed consists of two standard-size single mattresses.

The location is ideal for those who want to experience Trieste to the fullest: walks through historic squares, typical cafés, restaurants and historic shops are all within walking distance. After a day of exploring, relax in the comfort of your home away from home!

The flat is located on the first floor of a historic building with a lift. There are no architectural barriers (only one step at the front door).

We prepare a double bed for two guests. If you would like to sleep separately, please let us know immediately, and we will also prepare the sofa bed for you free of charge!

A folding travel crib is available, but it is subject to availability and must be requested in advance.

The crib/cot is available upon request in advance and is subject to availability.

Early check-in is possible upon request and subject to availability and must be agreed in advance.

Instructions for accessing the flat will be available in the booking details from the day before arrival.

👉 We ask you to provide us with a valid telephone number and to notify us of any changes to your arrival time.

📄 Documents & tourist tax
Before check-in, each guest must present a valid ID (ID card, passport or driving licence).

The tourist tax is €3.00 per person per night, for a maximum of 5 nights.
The following are exempt from payment: minors, residents and those registered with AIRE.

🌿 DURING YOUR STAY

Our goal is to offer you a comfortable and carefree stay.
If something does not work or is not to your liking during your stay, please contact us immediately: our staff will be happy to help you.

🏠 Please remember that you are staying in a private property:

Please respect the quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In winter, please keep the temperature below 20°C, and in summer, above 23°C.


Do not leave personal belongings (suitcases, bicycles, etc.) in the common areas.

🚭 Smoking is prohibited inside the flat.
A penalty of €100 will be applied in case of violation.

🎉 Parties and access to unregistered guests are not allowed.

For the safety of guests, the fireplace cannot be used.

Before leaving the flat, we kindly ask you to:

Check that you have not forgotten any personal belongings (especially chargers 😉)

Turn off lights, appliances and devices

Dispose of rubbish

Close windows and turn off heating/air conditioning

📍 THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

The flat is located in the heart of Cavana, Trieste's ancient medieval quarter. Its narrow, charming streets bear names that tell the story of the city's ancient shops, such as Via del Pane (Bread Street) and Via del Pesce (Fish Street). Recently redeveloped, Cavana is now one of the most charming areas of the city: elegant, lively and with an unmistakable Central European atmosphere. It is no coincidence that Trieste is often called “the Vienna of the sea”.

Just a few steps away, you can immerse yourself in Trieste's social life: with aperitifs, restaurants and evening venues, there is something for everyone here.

Here are a few recommendations just a stone's throw from home:

Seafood and fine dining: Antica Ghiacceretta, Ego, Le Barettine, Biancospino

Traditional cuisine: Al Petes, Marise

Pizza and pasta: Di Napoli, Bianco, Trattoria Caprese

🚶‍♂️ GETTING AROUND THE AREA

The location of the accommodation is simply perfect for visiting Trieste. Once you have parked your car, you can forget about it: the historic centre is easily explored on foot and Piazza Unità d'Italia is just around the corner.

For those arriving by car, parking is available:

at the San Giusto car park

along the Rive (blue lines, paid parking, free from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and on public holidays)

For longer journeys, Trieste has an efficient public transport service: timetables and routes can be found on the Trieste Trasporti website.

Alternatively, you can get around sustainably thanks to the bike-sharing service: city bikes are available on the Rive, in front of the Hotel Savoia, just a few minutes' walk from the flat.
