Gelsomino is a spacious and cosy flat located on the Karst plateau, in the cool and sunny Opicina, just a ten-minute drive from the centre of Trieste. The location is ideal for those seeking tranquillity, greenery and fresh air, without sacrificing the convenience of the city... also with your furry friends <3

The flat is air-conditioned and offers spacious and functional rooms: a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and large refrigerator, a large living room perfect for relaxing, a double bedroom, two bedrooms with four single beds and two bathrooms with bath and shower.

Outside, the accommodation is surrounded by a beautiful furnished terrace, ideal for breakfast in the sun, al fresco dining or relaxing, as well as a small private garden area and an uncovered parking space. There is space available for storing bicycles.

From here, it is easy to explore the trails and caves of the Karst, reach the sea or go down to the city to discover Trieste, the charming Vienna on the Sea. A perfect solution for families and groups who want comfort, space and nature.

The accommodation, entirely reserved for guests, is located on floor 1 of a building with an elevator.
Heating is connected to the building.

🕒 Check-in time: from 3 p.m.
Early check-in is possible upon request and subject to availability and must be agreed in advance.

We will provide you with instructions for accessing the flat the day before your arrival.

👉 Please provide us with a valid telephone number and notify us of any changes to your arrival time.

📄 Documents & tourist tax
At check-in, each guest must present a valid identity document (ID card, passport or driving licence).

The tourist tax is €3.00 per person per night, for a maximum of 5 nights.
The following are exempt from payment: minors, residents and those registered with AIRE.

Please respect the quiet hours from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In winter, keep the temperature at a maximum of 20°C, in summer at a minimum of 23°C.

Do not leave personal items (suitcases, bicycles, etc.) in the common areas.

🚭 Smoking is prohibited inside the flat.
In case of violation, a penalty of €100 will be applied.

🎉 Parties and access to unregistered guests are not permitted.

Before leaving the flat, we kindly ask you to:

Check that you have not forgotten any personal items (especially chargers 😉)

Turn off lights, appliances and devices

Dispose of rubbish

📍 THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Opicina is the first town one encounters when leaving Trieste behind and heading up toward the Karst.
Many people from Trieste live around here, preferring the fresh evening air, the tranquility and the possibility of having all services within walking or cycling distance, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

A short distance from the apartment you can reach one of the most beautiful viewpoints over Trieste, the Obelisk area, which is extremely fascinating even on days of low fog, when the whole city is covered by a soft blanket from which only a few spires and the high floors of a few buildings emerge. From the Obelisk then you can set out along the Napoleonic Road, an easy 5-kilometer dirt path to the Marian Temple of Monte Grisa, a building that catches the eye because of its peculiar shape.

Along the way you will enjoy exceptional views of the city, the gulf, the Victory Lighthouse and Miramare Castle. The vertical walls located at the end of the trail are also popular with free-climbers!

🚶‍♂️ GETTING AROUND THE AREA

One of Opicina's attractions is definitely the famous Tram, a historic cable car that connects the village with the city center. After many years, it has finally been put back into operation and is a unique excursion that we highly recommend!

From Opicina you can visit the entire Karst and coastal area either by car or by bicycle: there are endless paths through the greenery that will take you to the incredible Karst Caves, including the Giant Cave, and beautiful viewpoints.

Alternatively, you can reach the center of Trieste in ten minutes; thanks to the parking space under the house you can easily move everywhere!
